Five Nights from the Packet: How to Make Box Meals Taste from Scratch from www.anyonita-nibbles.com
For me, Mexican food is classic feel-good food. It's indulgent, communal, flavorful and vibrant. Good Mexican food is laden with picante ingredients leaving a fiery tingling on your tongue and your tummy full. When I need to throw together a quick meal with minimal effort, I usually reach for something Mexican. Either an assemble-by-numbers fajita kit or a packet of tortillas warmed in the microwave and situated center of the table to be grabbed and filled at whim.

When I first decided to run this series on packet meals, I had to stop myself from doing 5 nights of Mexican variations! These tacos won out over the other 4 meals I considered simply because they're so easy! The rice is optional and the condiments can be rustically served straight from their respective jars, not dished onto a divided platter. Whatever works best for your family.

Don't do chicken? Swap it out for beef or perfectly cooked flaky cod, or even an assortment of roasted vegetables. No matter what protein filling you use, you've got to make my homemade taco seasoning to go with it! It's the shining star that catapults this dish from being a run-of-the-mill box meal into something that tastes from scratch and totally homemade!

Quick & Dirty Tacos Chicken Carnitas Recipe
  1. Make the homemade taco seasoning.
  2. Sprinkle it on the uncooked chicken and allow to marinate 15 minutes.
  3. Pan fry the chicken in a wok over high heat with a bit of oil or bake the chicken in stoneware without any oil for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. Serve the cooked chicken on a bed of lettuce.
  5. If you'd like, you can serve a packet of Mexican rice as well as any condiments for flavoring your tacos.
  6. You know how to assemble and eat a taco, so I'm sure you can figure out the rest! :)

All Tasty Tuesdays participants get guaranteed Pinterest exposure!
We pin every post you share because this party is about everyone getting exposure for their blog! Due to Google's algorithm changes regarding comment spam, I have had to adjust my commenting style and as of Tasty Tuesdays #19, I will no longer be leaving comments on every post. Instead, I will now share three different links each day the party is live on various social media sites. I will also still continue to pin every link that complies with the rules of the party. Be sure to follow our Tasty Tuesdays board on Pinterest!

All Tasty Tuesdays featured bloggers get added to a beautiful roundup and get followed on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, G+, Google Friend Connect and Bloglovin'! Here's how we do features on Tasty Tuesdays:

Featured from last week's party
I hate to do this, but last week the numbers for visiting other links was so low that there aren't any features! I base my features largely on what posts you guys view the most. Only 5 links were viewed by people other than me last week! :( I don't know about you, but I link up to parties so other people will visit my blog, but if I don't visit any, then why should I expect others to visit me? Can we all try to click at least one other link in the party this week? It can be ANY link you'd like! Please?
