Learn the 5 telltale signs of blogger burn out and how to spot them creeping into your blog!

It happens to veteran bloggers and it happens to newbie bloggers. It happens to food bloggers and fashion bloggers, lifestyle bloggers and tech bloggers. It happens to bloggers in the UK and bloggers in Asia. It happens to female bloggers and it happens to male bloggers. It happens to thirty-something bloggers and it happens to bloggers in their 60s. No matter what you blog about, no matter where you live, you could be effected by blogger burn out.

Blogger burn out is when a blogger simply stops blogging and it's happened to me on more than one occasion. I like to think of blogger burn out being a bit like a form of depression, and as such, the symptoms are similar. Today, I'd like to share 5 telltale signs of blogger burn out so you can spot them before they sneak up on you:

Gluten Free Cottage Pie with Twice Baked Mash

Gluten Free Cottage Pie with Twice Baked Mash

A cottage pie is similar to a shepherd's pie but the main difference is in the type of mince used. Where a shepherd's pie uses lamb mince, a cottage pie uses beef mince or ground beef. This dish is classic comfort food and can be enjoyed year round, but is especially great this time of year when the produce is at its sweetest and ripest. To make it even more indulgent, I topped it with a downright decadent double baked mashed potato, giving it the creamiest, most velvety finish imaginable!

When I'm cooking for the blog, keeping the food hot long enough for me to take photos can be a real challenge. So I avoid having to nuke cooked food in the microwave and rest my dishes on stone tiles--they're perfect conductors of heat, and keep the dishes nice and warm! Stone tiles, like the Retro Marengo collection I used in these photos, also make perfect trays for serving hot food from. My tiles come from Sabbini, where they have a huge collection of the some of the most gorgeous stone tiles, I've ever seen!

Gluten Free One Pot Moroccan Sausage Stew

With it warming up here in Manchester, being in an un-air conditioned kitchen is pretty much as unbearable as it gets. Plus, running the oven all day just adds to the overall heat in the house and nobody needs that when it's well into the 80s. The weather really makes this dish perfect for this time of year; it's a shame that stews are generally reserved for colder months, when they are just as comforting and can be made lighter and perfect for summer.

This 20 minute, one-pot Moroccan stew is packed with veggies but the star is the gluten free MOR sausages spiced with harrisa paste and bursting with chickpeas, red peppers and delicious pork!

This recipe is the epitome of cooking for the lazy. Virtually everything comes from a tin or a can and all you have to do is open, drain and pour. This is a hallelujah recipe because it's so easy, so yummy and effortless. You don't even have to mess around with adding lots of seasonings for flavour because the sausages have it under control. And those sausages?

This 20 minute, one-pot Moroccan stew is packed with veggies but the star is the gluten free MOR sausages spiced with harrisa paste and bursting with chickpeas, red peppers and delicious pork!

They are 100 per cent gluten free pork sausages filled with Moroccan spices, cauliflower, chickpeas and red peppers from the amazing people (and my new bezzie marras) at MOR. Each serving of these sausages contains much less fat than standard sausages. The fine folks at MOR have also used veggies that are high in protein, fibre and vitamins B6, C and K--basically, these are healthy sausages, guys.

Creamiest No Churn Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Picture it: a blistering hot day, a welcome and cooling breeze every now and then and the most delicious gourmet-style ice cream you've ever tasted but made by you. That's what you could have when you whip up this ice cream. I promise you, it's so good and so easy. You don't need to fuss around with an ice cream maker and you don't have to worry about frozen milk leaving nasty ice crystals in it. You'll be left with smooth-as-anything, dead creamy vanilla bean ice cream. And if you're a vanilla fiend like me, go right ahead and boost the vanilla to insane amounts. It'll taste even better.

We've been making this ice cream since 2013 and using it (without the vanilla) as a base for lots of other lovely flavours. It truly became our go-to flavour and it works so well with a thick wedge of gluten free chocolate cake. Match. Made. In. Heaven.

Discover the 6 steps necessary to come back to blogging after a break and get back into your groove!

Don't let the irony of today's post get lost on you. I'm kick starting a series on how to come back to blogging after taking a break because I have just come back to full-time blogging after taking a break myself. Since my return, I've noticed that there are a lot of bloggers currently on breaks or just trying to get back into the swing of things, too. I hope you take inspiration from this series and that it aids you in getting your blog groove back!

The reason why bloggers take breaks is just as varied as the number of blogs there are in existence, but the number one reason I've found is simply burn out. Honestly, though, why you stopped blogging isn't relevant for the tips I'm going to share with you today. Here's how to come back to blogging after a break:

Discover the sustainable way to binge read magazines, declutter your life and save money!

Discover the sustainable way to binge read magazines, declutter your life and save money with Readly!
My husband and I are magazine obsessed. He has an entire 6 foot tall bookcase devoted to a lifetime  of magazines he loves and I'm well on my way to collecting as many. The problem is, after paying a premium for a glossy magazine of your favourite topic, you don't want to chuck it in the recycling bin after use. At around £4.99 per 'zine, those 150 or so glossy pages of inspo can cost you a small fortune.

In an effort to declutter, save cash and be more sustainable, we drastically reduced our magazine consumption ... and then we discovered the Readly app and all our magazine pet peeves and problems were solved. Readly wants you to discover their app too and are offering you a free trial! Jump to the offer!

Unwind with Readly and an entire virtual newsstand at your fingers.

My account is a mix of all my favourite interests: there are loads of cooking magazines like BBC Good Food, BBC Easy Cook, Food to Love, Olive and Delicious and gluten free magazines too like Easy Gluten-Free. But then I've saved Yoga Journal, Thrive, Psychologies, Mollie Makes, Wanderlust, The Lonely Planet, Elle Decoration and The Week. If I went to the shops and individually purchased the latest edition of each of those, it would cost me over £50 and I'd be left with a stack of magazines to either dispose of or try to find space for on already crammed bookshelves. No thanks.

But with Readly, all of my favourite magazines and new titles I'd never even heard of are available to me for less than £10 a month. I can flip through a current  or a previous issue of a magazine any time on my phone or tablet whether I'm connected to wifi or not. It doesn't eat up a ton of space on your phone, either. It truly is the perfect solution to staying current with your favourite magazines in an economical and eco-friendly way.

Enjoy a 1 Month Free Subscrition to Readly!
Try Readly out today for an entire month and pay nothing

It's no strings attached; all you have to do is download the app to up to five of your devices and choose some magazines to read. Then sit back and read! Start your free one month trial today!

Some of our favourite things about the app:
  1. One subscription covers the whole family. My husband, our son and myself each have our own accounts with our own magazines all for £7.99 a month.
  2. You can print magazine pages from within the app.
  3. You can go back to past issues of the magazines and read those.
  4. You can view magazines from other countries! There are thousands of UK and Ireland magazines, but you can also view titles from the United States, Australia, Canada and beyond!
  5. You can search magazines. Simply type in what you're looking for and Readly will search all of the magazines in the database. Then they will take you to the page within the magazine that your search result is on.
  6. Your place is saved, so you can pick up reading where you left off.
  7. No wifi? No problem! Read on the go!
  8. Adult accounts are password protected so kids can only view what you've authorised them to view.
  9. One subscription is good for multiple devices. We've got Readly on my iPhone, my husband's iPad and my husband's Android phone.
  10. Our monthly spend on magazines (usually around £50) has decreased to less than a tenner. That's cheaper than two coffees.

Unwind with a snack while you binge read:

Gluten Free One-Pot Taco Pasta

When I was pregnant, a lot of my food cravings were for textures more than actual foods. I may not have known exactly what I wanted to eat, but I always knew what I wanted the food to feel like and one of my big texture cravings was for something creamy and savoury. This pasta dish ticks that box. There's no heavy traditional pasta sauce here, instead, you use a nice guacamole as your sauce and thin it out with a bit of sour cream. I'm telling you now, you. will. swoon.

This creamy, gluten free taco pasta is cooked in one pot and comes together in under 20 minutes, giving you your evenings back!

Seriously, the only thing better than cheesy, creamy comfort food is not having to spend hours in the kitchen preparing it. This whole meal is ready in less than 20 minutes--that's quicker than an episode of Paw Patrol, so by the time you've finished bribing your child with the show, dinner is on the table and cool enough for them to eat. Plus there's only one pot, so doing the washing up won't take ages. This is what we in the Mommahood call a win; win and this dish is definitely a weeknight winner!

Rule #354 for surviving life as an expat: don't judge a dish by its name! As is the case with today's recipe: toad in the hole.

Nothing beats a Friday night takeaway. Relaxing at the end of a long week and enjoying the fruits of someone else's labour of love in the kitchen is my idea of a good way to relax. Unfortunately, it's not always easy to find a reliable takeaway that definitely won't contain gluten or be cross-contaminated, so the next best thing is to make those takeaways yourself. Don't feel intimidated by the long list of ingredients, it's really easy to whip up this delicious dish and I guarantee, it'll be added to your rotation of favourite meals!
