Creamiest No Churn Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Picture it: a blistering hot day, a welcome and cooling breeze every now and then and the most delicious gourmet-style ice cream you've ever tasted but made by you. That's what you could have when you whip up this ice cream. I promise you, it's so good and so easy. You don't need to fuss around with an ice cream maker and you don't have to worry about frozen milk leaving nasty ice crystals in it. You'll be left with smooth-as-anything, dead creamy vanilla bean ice cream. And if you're a vanilla fiend like me, go right ahead and boost the vanilla to insane amounts. It'll taste even better.

We've been making this ice cream since 2013 and using it (without the vanilla) as a base for lots of other lovely flavours. It truly became our go-to flavour and it works so well with a thick wedge of gluten free chocolate cake. Match. Made. In. Heaven.

Gluten Free Green Bean Casserole

Here's an American Thanksgiving and Christmas tradition you may not have come across: Green Bean Casserole. This casserole is a staple at the dinner table on the big holidays in the states and has been on my list to make gluten free for some time. It's a really easy side dish to make and you can serve it alongside turkey, ham or chicken. It would also work well as an Easter side dish, too!

Gluten Free Pumpkin Oat Bars

Oat bars are popular anytime of year, but I always find myself craving them when the weather starts to turn chillier. They make a far better accompaniment to hot tea than biscuits or cookies do and as the mercury drops, my consumption of tea increases. From that perspective, there's no shock, then, that I crave oat bars in autumn and winter!

These oat bars, with the soft oat flour base, rich pumpkin puree and flakes of rolled oats across the top, are a perfect pumpkin/oat sandwich. They're gluten free, made from oat flour which makes them surprisingly soft! Easy to whip up, and requiring minimal effort or time, you can make a batch of these as soon as you get up on Saturday morning and nibble them throughout the day. Or, do like I do, and make up a batch for breakfasts for the entire week.

Roasted Potato Medley with Cranberries & Pecans Thanksgiving Side Dish

Hello to all of Anyonita's wonderful readers! This is Kristin from Dizzy Busy and Hungry, back again to share another recipe with all of you! This time of year, as we approach the holidays, I am always on the lookout for really great side dishes to serve at holiday dinners. They must be easy, delicious, and elegant, so that they don't make me crazy with lots of fancy ingredients or instructions, yet they make my dinner guests feel like I went all out for them!

This potato dish is one of my favorites. The potatoes turn out slightly crispy on the outside, and nice and tender on the inside. The garlic salt and cranberries play perfectly off one another, with just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness combined in each bite. The pecans add a nice crunch, and the parsley contributes some color as well as another layer of savory flavor. This dish is a hit every time I serve it!

Gluten Free Pumpkin Spice Créme Brûlée

By now, you probably know all about my obsession with créme brûlée. Remember this summer when I shared my recipe for gluten free créme brûlée for one?  Yeah, all that elation and addiction is still present. It's the very reason I came up with this decadent autumnal version.

Spiced with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg and mixed with all-natural pumpkin puree, this créme brûlée would make an excellent, naturally gluten free alternative to pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving. The bitter brûléed brown sugar atop this dessert combines nicely with the rich pumpkin and the slightly fiery spices. I especially love it when you get a tang of the ginger. It's an absolutely decadent dessert that's easy to make and would look attractive served after a hearty Thanksgiving feast. Plus, if you've got guests coming over this Thanksgiving, this is an easy way to impress them with a restaurant-quality dessert that's a cinch to whip up!

Gluten Free Slowcooker Pulled Turkey Sliders Recipe

Monday, November 25, 2013

Tender turkey crown cooked in white wine and spices in the slow cooker makes an excellent filling for these delicious sliders!

Slowcooker Pulled Turkey Sliders

These pulled turkey sliders are my Thanksgiving compromise. They have all the flavor of a classic American Thanksgiving dinner but none of the fuss and there's no mound of leftovers to contend with, either. The turkey is slow-cooked in a rich bath of wine and butter before being shredded and stuffed into hamburger buns slathered with stove top stuffing and tangy cranberry sauce.

Celebrating Thanksgiving as an expat can be a bit tricky. Since Thanksgiving isn't celebrated in the UK, the day isn't a holiday. And since it's always on a Thursday, it means my husband has to work as do other family members and friends, which makes it difficult to invite people over for a mid-week feast. And when it was just my husband and me, we couldn't really justify the banquet of food synonymous with Thanksgiving. So, over the years, I've found ways to sneak in Thanksgiving without actually having Thanksgiving.

That's where these sliders came from. Of course, you could use this recipe with any leftover turkey you have and it'll taste just as fantastic. And if you really like the look of those printable Thanksgiving flags, download them for free!

Holiday Glazed Carrots

I've got an obsession with turkey, but the thing that I look forward to most of all during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, Boxing Day season is the side items! In particular, these sweet glazed carrots. We tend to only have them around the holiday season and maybe once at Easter. For us, these glazed carrots a real festive treat! With just five ingredients, they're easy to make and you can leave them to bubble away on the stove while you get on with the rest of the meal. Winning.

These carrots make my toddler ask for seconds. My toddler who despises carrots cannot get enough of these sweet nuggets of nutrition. And do you know what? I'll happily give him seconds of these because he'll be filling up on vegetables, not cookies and crisps.

More about Chantenay carrots...they're amazingly sweet & no need to peel!

Nut-Crusted Toffee Apple Cake Recipe

This Nut-Crusted Toffee Apple Cake is like eating a toffee apple but without all the hard work! It's laced with sweet toffee, succulent apples and crunchy nuts. It works well as a dessert with custard or ice cream and I even enjoyed the occasional slice for breakfast with a cup of tea.

The thing that I love most about this cake is how moist it is. It's a lip-smacking, bite-savoring delight. It's easy to make and the fanned apple design is impressive and would look right in place as the centerpiece of a dessert table during the holidays. I used Golden Delicious apples for the cake because they are my favorite eating apple, but you can use whatever variety or mix of varieties you prefer for a slightly different taste and texture.

Pumpkin pie gets a hands-off makeover with this easy, slow cooker dessert that will get you in the mood for autumn!

Today, I'm so excited to be wrapping up Slowcooker Week with a recipe from the Slowcooker Queen herself, Kelly from Mostly Homemade Mom! If you've never visited Kelly's blog, I'm sure this post is going to drive you right over! She's full of good idea and great looking food. Welcome, Kelly!

Well hello everyone and a huge Happy Fall to you! My name is Kelly and I'm lady behind the scenes at Mostly Homemade Mom. I have a "thing" for shortcut recipes, but I guess more specifically, shortcut recipes that look like you slaved away in the kitchen all day. Yep, I'm a big faker. :P

On top of that, I might have a *slight* obsession with my Crockpot. Most slow cooker recipes require 15 minutes or less of prep time, then you just dump it in and turn it on. Then at the end of the day you come home wondering what the hay you're going to make for dinner, you walk through that door, and you remember that you rock. I love that feeling.

Today, though, I'm bringing you something a bit different - a Crockpot dessert. If you haven't tried making desserts in the Crockpot, I'm here to help you get on board! To be honest with you, something magical happens when you mix these ingredients together and cook them low and slow. It literally tastes like a pumpkin pie in the Crockpot, it's pretty close to amazing. I'm thinking this would be an amazing dessert for Thanksgiving - have it cook away on it's own while you get the rest of the dinner ready. Whatever you do, don't skip the whipped cream. There's something about the warm pumpkin pie pudding with the cold, creamy whipped cream that just takes it over the top. Yum!
