8 Google Ranking Factors Bloggers can Optimize Right Now

One of the questions I get asked a lot in relation to blogging is how a blogger can increase pageviews. It makes sense; no one would blog if they didn't want anyone to read it, so getting a grip on pageviews is important. But before I share some tips with you specifically geared at increasing your pageviews, let's go back to basics and figure out which factors Google uses to rank sites and pages.

More people in the world use Google as their search engine than any other search engine. That means Google is pretty important and key in generating pageviews. Without requiring you to know the ins and outs of analytics or SEO and without needing you to invest a whole lot of time or money, I wanted to provide a simple 8 step method that will lead to increased pageviews.

So here are 8 Google Ranking Factors that you can use right now to optimize your blog. I know, I know, I know; it's not what you asked for. You asked for ways to increase pageviews. Remember what I said? Most people land on webpages as a result of Google. Until you get sufficient Google rankings your pageviews won't increase. Ready?

I absolutely love these macarons! They're made from my basic macaron recipe but are dyed red and blue and are perfectly patriotic and festive for a 4th of July barbecue! If you package the macarons in groups of two or three and fasten them closed with festive ribbon, they'll make the perfect party favor for your guests! I know most people don't really do favors at barbecues, but if you're having an upscale soiree to celebrate Independence Day, then these would be a lovely added touch! Plus, who doesn't love a macaron? And they're gluten-free!

In my days before Coeliac Disease, I had a thing for gourmet sandwiches. You can't beat a good bit of bread paired with delicious fillings, can you? It's filling, quick and convenient! Well, you won't be surprised to know what I miss most about being able to eat gluten is convenience foods! When you're in a rush and need a quick lunch, your options tend to be things that would make a coeliac cower in fear: prepackaged sandwiches, wraps or bowls of pasta. This sandwich, ready in 10 minutes flat, was my response to the lack of convenience foods available to coeliacs.

These aren't just ordinary ciabattas, these are gluten-free, cheese-topped ciabattas filled with a medley of pan-fried vegetables, cheese, tomatoes and a crispy fried egg with a perfectly runny yolk. Instead of mayonnaise, butter or oil, I've spread some basil pesto on the bread, so it's better for you than traditional sandwiches.

This is going to be one of those sandwiches you keep coming back to. I promise. You can mix and match the fillings: add meat or keep it vegetarian and use different vegetables. The versatility is endless! You could also substitute the ciabattas for other gluten-free bread and still have delicious results.

Pinterest Group Board Etiquette

By now, loads of bloggers and social media managers are well aware of the benefits gained from promoting content on Pinterest.

If you still need convincing on just how great Pinterest is, do a quick Google News search. You'll find articles about the power of Pinterest and how it is beginning to rival even Google and present itself as an alternative, visual search engine.

When used correctly, one particular aspect of Pinterest has the power to catapult your pageviews exponentially. That aspect is the group board.

With this tutorial, I'd like to look at the benefits of group boards and discuss group board etiquette from the point of view of the pinners as well as board owners.

Remember those Crunchy Peanut Butter & Nutella cookies I shared a few weeks ago? Before those were born, I created this personal-sized baby. It had been a rough day: we'd had tantrums over absolutely everything. Including the fact that we were having tantrums! When Callum finally gave in and collapsed on the sofa in exhaustion from all the shouting and crying and put himself to sleep, I escaped into the kitchen, in need of something indulgent. You know how they say "necessity is the mother of invention?" Yup, totally.

I'll admit it was almost blind fury and desperation--I was just chucking things into my favorite blue mug and stirring like a mad woman. I even forgot to write this recipe down! (It's a good thing I've made it about 2312598 times since!) I whacked it in the microwave and about 5 minutes later (after it cooled) I leaned up against the kitchen counter and dug in, sipping on a cold glass of almond milk between forkfuls.

So when I say this recipe is perfect for when you need a hit of peanut butter and Nutella, you know what I mean. I always need a hit on those screamy, I-am-a-2-year-old-hear-me-roar days. Not that I'm encouraging emotional eating or anything like that, but when do you find yourself in the throes of a problem only the holy union of chocolate and peanut butter can fix?

The Truth About: Pregnancy Triggered Coeliac Disease and Gluten Intolerance

A personal account of pregnancy-triggered Coeliac Disease & Gluten Intolerance. A look at the symptoms of the disease, diagnosis and the stages of acceptance.

After months of speculation, I finally confirmed that I have Coeliac (also spelled Celiac) Disease, which is an intolerance to wheat gluten. I thought it was only fitting that I shared my story here since this is after all a food blog. I'm no expert on living a gluten-free lifestyle, since I'm relatively new to the entire diet. 

But what I have noticed is that there's not much information surrounding things that trigger a gluten intolerance. My Coeliac Disease was triggered by pregnancy and I wasn't even aware that that was a possible outcome of being pregnant! 

I'll share my experience with Coeliac Disease from symptoms to acceptance and lifestyle changes. I'll address the future of Anyonita Nibbles and what impact my diagnosis will have on this food blog.

These baby back ribs are coated with an easy four-ingredient dry rub and slow cooked and basted with barbecue sauce before serving. Growing up in the south in America, I had my fair share of ribs. In the south, we do ribs. Barbecue isn't just a thing you have when the weather's sunny and the days are long. Barbecue is its own food group down south, with entire towns centering their whole identity around it.
